Procurement manager - USA

BIOCAD team is pleased to offer you a full-time position of Procurement manager in BIOCAD representative company in USA, CT, effective August 01, 2010.

POSITION
Scope of position involves the overall planning, implementation and optimization of all activities and support required for buying and delivery of products and services, from material acquisition through delivery. Primary areas include procurement and contracting, supplier management, inventory management, logistics operations, supplier diversity, transportation and distribution. Procurement manager reports to General Manager of representative office.

Candidate specification and skills:
• Minimum - Bachelor degree in procurement management / economics / foreign trade/ pharmaceutics / life sciences.
• Experience in procurement in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector – min 3 years.
• Raw materials, pharmaceutical/ biotech/ lab equipment market expertise.
• Contract writing / management
• Supplier relationship management
• Decision making and problem solving
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple objectives / priorities
• Ability to act quickly and decisively, demonstrating drive and commitment
• Experience in negotiations, outsourcing, price/cost analysis, business process improvement
• Fluent English (oral and written).
• A successful candidate should be confident and adaptable and have good communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply of goods with a desirable price/quality ratio:
• Cooperation with manufacturers 
(improvement of goods quality and minimization of cost)
• Search and assessment of suppliers
• Marketing research
• Purchase and shipment of goods
• Purchase control/audit
• Supply chain optimization
