Basic research activities of the Biocad company are concentrated in  its structural subdivision – Center of Immunological Engineering (CIE).
 
The sub-division was established on the basis of the research facilities of the OJSC  «Institute of Immunological Engineering» at the RJSC «Biopreparat» in the settlement of Lyubuchany, Chekhov District, Moscow Region. Major  part of the employees are specialists who used to work  previously for the OJSC  «Institute of Immunological Engineering» and have experience of working with especially dangerous diseases. 

Currently CIE employs 22 scientists, one of them is the holder of the higher doctorate degree and six PhDs. 

The CIE structure involves all the sub-divisions capable to ensure the whole technology scheme, beginning from gene engineering and completing with pre-clinical trials.  

The preclinical trials are carried out in compliance with GLP.
 
Basic direction of the CIE activities is scientific research:
• creation of new producers of genetically engineered preparations, producers of biologically active substances;
• development of technologies of production of medicinal immuno-biological preparations;
• creation and improvement of different medicinal forms for health practice based on the immuno-biological preparations, in particular, of genetically engineered  cytokines, antibodies and other recombinant proteins and peptides, starting from the stage of development up to the pilot-industrial production of medicines.
